As we work through midterm exams, memorizing what you read is an exhausting and difficult task. Thankfully, students and professors at RMIT in Melbourne have created a font to increase memory retention. By using the “desirable difficulty [principle], which is where an obstruction is added to the learning process in order to promote deeper cognitive processing”, the font has seen a 7% increase in memory retention. An interesting read/look into how design and psychology can mingle to create future innovations.
