The New Yorker has acquired a new artist and she goes by the name Ruby. A creator of painfully relatable content, Ruby is able to intertwine humor into issues that tackle mental issues like depression and anxiety. Having experience bipolar and an eating disorder herself, drawing helped her relieve her pain. Ruby doesn’t see her work as an active attempt to change our perspectives on mental illness, however, she makes a point not to sugar-coat things. Sides of mental illness and treatment we don’t normally witness or see are incorporated into her comics. She posts pretty frequently on her Instagram as well so give her a follow @rubyetc_.
