I am going to Japan for almost two weeks in March and I am very excited. This trip prompted me to examine some Japanese art. One of the most prominent forms of Japanese art is known as sho or shodo (“the way of writing”). It has been practiced for many centuries by samurai, nobles, and ordinary people. I learned that usually it is taught in elementary school and takes decades to master. Approximately 20 million Japanese practice the art. I am pretty pumped to see different forms of this art for myself!
