Artists’ depictions of Hell

With Halloween festivities finally coming to a close, we can take a look at some of the most gruesome and creepy depictions of Hell in artworks past here. It is interesting that most of them depict a warm, fiery glow that is paired with darker hues, but other artists take more abstract turns than the common depictions we read about in novels and see in the media. In the list, there even lies photos of an enormous installation of art, amongst several paintings.
