With the Museum of Ice Cream, the trend of immersive museums that emphasize color and creating moments that are “insta-worthy” began. These museums tap into the desire to not just experience something, but to be seen actually experiencing it. More traditional museums are embracing Instagram, where once phones/ cameras were seen as taboo, museums are now embracing social media by placing hashtags near the displays.
