Studio Joachim-Morineau recently just designed a machine that can manufacture pottery by replicating human error. While many people see machines and technology to perfect and eliminate human error, designers Carla Joachim and Jordan Morineau decided that pottery required a certain element of human touch. By programming human error or elements of randomness, I was brought back to what we learned in Processing regarding the random function. In a similar manner, Carla Joachim and Jordan Morineau are able to make “unique” pieces based on machinery. Interesting read.
