Since the beginning of the semester when Professor Rivkin mentioned that one of our assignments will be to create a public art display, I’ve been thinking about a project I could create that would encourage the involvement of the community and form a collaborative final product. The other day, I happened upon a post about the “Before I Die” wall, which is similar to the type of project I would like to conduct.
This simple project features a chalk wall where people can write their life aspirations in various colors. The end result is an inspirational, collaborative piece of art. Since Candy Chang’s first “Before I Die” wall in Taiwan in 2011, more than 450 have appeared in 60+ countries all over the world.
